The Sky Blues made it to the playoff final in their first season in the Greater Seattle Soccer League with a narrow 1-0 win over FC Thien An at Ingraham High School.
An unimpressive performance by the league champions saw them squeeze by the Vietnamese team and into the Division 3B playoff final. The only goal of the game came in the first half through in-form striker Matt Choi after some quick one-touch passes by Ambrose and Totev set him up for the finish. The overly aggressive FC Thien An dominated most of the possession and were unlucky on many occasions not to score. They were also lucky to not have more than the one player sent off late in the second half. A well-organized Impact team prevented an equalizer under difficult playing conditions, and although not especially convincing on the day, a win is a win and even the best teams can have an off-day.
